Hulme graffiti – Woodcock Square. The Square as it was known by me and my friends growing up in the 70′s, 80′s up until it was demolished late 1995. This is the estate in Hulme i started painting first, the side wall of the launderette which was just out of shot to the left. These shops in the 70′s were greengrocers, hairdressers, newsagents, hardware store, banks, chippy’s a great shopping arcade that went down the pan towards the late 80′s. By 1995 only Abdul stayed and the people of the estate looked after him even the phoneboxes have gone in this picture. If you were here today you would be looking up newcastle street towards stretford road with the Union Hall church on your right. kELzO
